St. John’s is very excited to offer you a number of options for your family! You will have the opportunity to sign up for as little as 1 afternoon or as many as 5 afternoons per week. Bus will transport students from school to St. John’s.

Nursery School / Day Care

Early Drop: Nursery Program/School Age from 7:30am-9:00am

Nursery School: 9:00am – 11:30am (3 year old) & 9:00am – 12:00 (4 year old)

Little Lunchtime Learners: 11:30am /12:00 – 3:00

Afternoon Adventurers: 3:00pm-5:30pm

This program is open to students applying who are currently enrolled in our preK and children attending Bradley Elementary through 12 years old for the school year.

As quoted from the American Academy of Pediatrics, “Play is fundamentally important for learning 21st century skills, such as problem solving, collaboration, and creativity”. I believe in recognizing each child for their individuality while creating a strong desire to grow. The goal is to create an exciting environment in order to build a strong base for their future academic journey and fostering their social and emotional skills. Our classroom will mix a lot of fun with a lot of learning in the hope they have a wonderful introduction to their educational journey!

Mon- Fri 4-5 yr olds

Children learn through play and interacting with others. Their experiences, and hands-on learning will take them into their future. My goal as a teacher, is not only to help children learn fundamental skills but also to get them excited to explore new things and have learning opportunities. My hope is that when children are engaged, excited and curious during early learning experiences they will develop a life long love of learning. With this in mind, I strive to build a warm classroom community where each student feels valued and respected.

I believe as an early childhood educator I am responsible for providing young children with positive learning experiences. By providing meaningful play and purposeful resources on a daily basis, I believe children will grow to build confidence and a lifelong love of learning. Each child is an individual, it is my job as an educator and one I strongly value to develop each child’s strengths, interests, skills, abilities and knowledge to extend their learning. Teaching is my passion, and I am committed to teaching with love and understanding. Children should be valued and treated with respect. I strongly believe that the interaction that a child receives at a young age greatly impacts their behaviors and learning in the future.

I believe that every child is a gift from God, and it is my blessing and privilege to be able to teach and care for these precious little ones. I find it truly wonderful to watch each child grow and mature throughout the school year. I believe children of this age learn best through music, art, reading, playing, as well as many hands-on activities. This is an important time in a child’s life to begin socializing and developing first friendships. It is my joy to watch their little faces light up as we learn and explore new things together. The little everyday accomplishments as well as their moments of excitement and understanding is what makes teaching so rewarding.

Miss Maura and Miss Nichole – Mrs. Stewart and Miss Juliana

I believe that it is important for children to feel confident and proud of their accomplishments, no matter how small! My goals are to create an environment that supports their growth and abilities, is a safe space for their emotional needs, and stimulates healthy engagement with their peers. Above all else, I trust the creative process to find out what each child needs in order to thrive. This includes free play time and making lots of messes! Every child is different, and I want to ensure that they are able to express themselves in a way that is safe, in a classroom that is welcoming and understanding.

Who should apply?

Enrollment

Anyone with a 3-5 year old child who is looking for a nurturing, warm environment with his/her peers to enjoy art, music, creative play and more, including kindergarten readiness for our older children.

How to apply?
We recommend that you give us a call or stop by for an application for enrollment, fill it out and mail/drop it to us for review.

Also include the preschool skill checklist/questionnaire. A $50.00 non-refundable registration fee per child is to be submitted at the time of application. We accept children without regard to race, color, sexual orientation, religion or national origin.

Follows New Hartford for Inclement Weather

The Nursery School will follow the New Hartford Central School System’s vacations and a couple in-service days. If New Hartford Schools close early or delay due to inclement weather, or non-scheduled days off, the Nursery School will also close or delay.

Transportation

Transportation is provided by the parents. If someone is to pick up your child other than the usual transporting adult, we must have a note from the parents to verify this. Parents are urged to be prompt for arrival and dismissal for the benefit and consideration of everyone.
